Sindikat Perdagangan Owa Ditangkap Polda Lampung

Sindikat perdagangan owa secara daring berhasil dibongkar oleh Unit Subdit Tipidter Polda Lampung bersama Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam (BKSDA) Bengkulu SKW III Lampung di Lampung Selatan pada Selasa (7/9/2021).

Petugas berhasil mengamankan tiga penjual berinisial MS (30), AB (20) dn APD (20) di Desa Lematan, Tanjung Bintang Lampung Selatan. Dari tangan ketiganya juga diamankan barang bukti berupa 2 ekor owa siamang, 1 ekor bayi owa ungko dan 3 ekor bayi lutung budeng.

Kepala SKW Ill Lampung BKSDA Bengkulu, Hifzon Zawahiri mengatakan modus operandi yang dilakukan oleh pelaku merupakan perdagangan owa daring melalui media sosial.

“Mereka bertransaksi dan berjualan melalui sosial media Facebook,” kata dalam keterangannya, Sabtu (11/9/2021) seperti dilansir dari suara.com

Menurutnya saat ini ketiga pelaku yang ditangkap telah dibawa oleh Polda Lampung untuk dilakukan penyelidikan lebih lanjut. Sementara keenam primata yang diselamatkan dari para pelaku sedang dipantau kesehatannya dan dirawat di Pusat Penyelamatan Satwa SKW III Lampung.

“Sementara satwanya masih di kami untuk direhabilitasi, sebelum menunggu petunjuk pelepasliaran. Mereka nantinya akan dilepasliarkan ke habitat aslinya setelah direhabilitasi,” ujar Hifzon Zawahiri.

Atas perbuatan ketiganya, para pelaku terancam dijerat Pasal 21 ayat (2) jo. Pasal 40 ayat (2)Undang-Undang Nomor 5 Tahun 1990, dengan ancaman pidana lima tahun penjara dan denda Rp100 juta.
