2 Owa Diserahkan Warga ke BKSDA Kalimantan Tengah

Seekor owa kalawat (Hylobates muelleri) diserahkan oleh seorang pelajar kepada Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam (BKSDA) Kalimantan Tengah di Kabupeten Murung Raya, Kalimantan tengah pada Kamis (10/2/2022).

Pelajar Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTSN) asal Desa Juking Pajang, Kecamatan Murung itu awalnya mendapatkan owa itu dari ayahnya yang sedang memancing di pinggir Sungai Barito.

Mengetahui bahwa owa merupakan satwa dilindungi, pelajar itu berinisiatif melaporkan penemuan owa ke polisi hutan (polhut) BKSDA Kalimantan Tengah SKW III Muara teweh.

Atas laporan itu, Tim Wildlife Rescue Unit (WRU) SKW III Muara Teweh menindaklanjuti dengan mendatangi kediaman pelapor.

Saat diperiksa, owa yang berumur sekitar 1 tahun itu dalam kondisi sehat. Sebagai upaya konservasi satwa dilindungi, tim WRU menyerahkan satwa itu ke kandang transit SKW III Muara Teweh. Selanjutnya, owa itu akan dititipkan di tempat rehabilitasi satwa Yayasan Kalaweit Indonesia untuk mendapatkan rehabilitasi.

Sementara, seekor owa kalimantan diserahkan warga di Pangkalan Bun kepada petugas BKSDA Kalimantan Tengah SKW II Pangkalan Bun pada Sabtu (12/2/2022).

Dari hasil pemeriksaan petugas, owa kalimantan yang diserahkan warga itu berjenis kelamin jantan dan dalam kondisi sehat.

Saat ini, owa tersebut berada di kandang transit SKW II Pangkalan Bun BKSDA Kalteng untuk dilakukan pemeriksaan dan perawatan sementara sebelum siap dilepasliarkan kembali di habitatnya.

Atas inisiatif warga terkait penyerahan satwa liar, pihak BKSDA Kalimantan Tengah sangat berterimakasih atas kesadaran warga yang semakin meningkat akan upaya pelestarian satwa di sekitar kita.
