Polda Riau menggagalkan perdagangan satwa dilindungi yang berada di Pekanbaru. Pihak kepolisian telah menyelamatkan 8 ekor satwa dan menangkap 3 penjualnya.
Demikian disampaikan, Kanit IV Subdit Reskrimsus Polda Riau, Kompol Nipwin Hutabarat kepada wartawan, Sabtu (27/2/2016) di Pekanbaru. Dia menjelaskan, kasus satwa liar ini awalnya dilaporkan sebuah LSM lingkungan. Di mana dalam laporannya, disebutkan adanya perdagangan satwa liar di pasar tradisional Palapa, kawasan Labu Baru Pekanbaru.
“Dari laporan itu, kita menurunkan tim untuk melacak perdagangan satwa tersebut. Dari ratusan kios yang ada di sana, ada 3 kios yang menjual satwa liar itu,” kata Nipwin.
Setelah dipastikan adanya penjualan satwa dilindungi tersebut, lanjutnya, hari ini tim melakukan operasi di pasar tersebut. Hasilnya, ada 8 satwa liar yang bisa diselamatkan. Satwa itu terdiri dari 6 ekor kukang dan 1 ekor siamang dan satu ekor owa jenis monyet putih.
“Satwa ini sengaja mereka sembunyikan. Sehingga sepintas sepertinya tidak ada perdagangan satwa. Namun tim kita sejak awal sudah menyelidikinya,” kata Nipwin.
Menurut Nipwin, dalam kasus ini tiga orang penjual satwa inisial, FH, JKN, ADR sudah diamankan. Hasil pemeriksaan sementara, mereka mengaku menjual satu ekor kukang seharga Rp 300 ribu, siamang Rp 500 ribu dan owa Rp 400 ribu.
“Pelaku mengaku dipasok dari seseorang yang tidak dikenal. Kita masih mengembangkan kasus ini untuk mencari tau siapa pemasoknya satwa liar tersebut,” tutup Nipwin.
