Sepuluh ekor satwa dilindungi berjenis owa ungko (Hylobates agilis) dan owa siamang (Symphalangus syndactylus) diperiksa dokumen dan kesehatannya saat akan berangkat ke Sumatra oleh Pejabat Karantina Pertanian Cilegon di Pelabuhan Merak, Lampung pada Jum’at (10/12/2021).
Pemeriksaan ini merupakan bentuk sinergitas antara Balai Pertanian Cilegon dengan Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam (BKSDA) Jakarta khususnya untuk lalu lintas media pembawa, seperti satwa liar, langka dan dilindungi.
Rencananya, sepuluh primata yang terdiri dari lima ekor owa ungko dan lima ekor owa siamang itu akan dikirim ke BKSDA Jambi.

Sementara itu ditempat yang berbeda, Arum Kepala Balai Karantina Pertanian Cilegon pihaknya menuturkan sudah cukup lama bersinergis dengan BKSDA yang berada wilayah Banten dan atau sekitarnya.
“Ini merupakan wujud sinergi Karantina Pertanian Cilegon serta dalam menjalankan amanah UU Nomor 21 tahun 2019 tentang Karantina Hewan, Ikan dan Tumbuhan serta PP Nomor 82 tahun 2000 tentang Karantina Hewan ,” terang Arum seperti dilansir dari akun Facebook Karantina Pertanian Cilegon.
Ismudiyanto, Dokter Hewan Karantina yang melakukan pemeriksaan menyebut kesepuluh primata itu secara administratif telah memenuhi persyaratan.
“Begitupun setelah dilakukan pemeriksaan fisik; jumlah dan jenis seluruhnya sesuai serta tidak ditemukan adanya gejala penyakit menular dan zoonosis,” ujarnya.
