Seniman Pantomim dalam Video sOWAra

Apa jadinya ketika seniman pantomim peduli akan isu perlindungan owa?

Tepat pada Hari Owa Internasional 24 Oktober lalu, Wanggi Hoed, seorang seniman pantomim mengunggah cuplikan video berjudul “sOWAra” di akun Instagram pribadinya.

sOWAra diambil dari suara OWA menjadi sOWAra atau gesturisasi suara aktivitas hidup owa (termasuk owa siamang), yang kini dalam status terancam punah atau endangered species.

Pada bagian awal video pendeknya itu, Wanggi –panggilan akrabnya– memeluk pohon sambil melihat sekitar. Ia meniru gerakan owa yang berada di habitat alaminya yaitu hutan.

Video ini dibuat untuk menajamkan kampanye yang selama ini teman-teman aktivis satwa suarakan guna perlindungan dan penyelamatan satwa liar termasuk OWA.

Wanggi Hoed ketika ditanya untuk apa video Sowara ini dibuat.

Kemeriahan Hari Owa Internasional ini juga dirayakan dengan adanya Festival Owa Indonesia yang diinisasi oleh Gibbonesia, Yayasan KIARA, dan SwaraOwa.

Karena kesadarannya itu, Wanggi Hoed berujar bahwa produksi karya sOWAra di kondisi saat ini adalah sebagai jembatan suara dan kondisi owa dan satwa liar yang kemungkinan masyarakat di luar lingkaran aktivis satwa tidak mengetahui.

13 November lalu, ia mengunggah versi penuh video pantomim itu di kanal pribadinya yaitu Wanggi Hoed Docs. Silakan ditonton dan disebarluaskan untuk owa Indonesia!
