Bayi Owa Jawa Lahir di Resort Bodogol

Bayi owa jawa dari “Keluarga Rasamala” terdokumentasikan pada Kamis (12/3) oleh mahasiswi Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) di Resort Bodogol.

Sebelumnya bayi itu sudah terpantau petugas Taman Nasional Gunung Gede Pangrango tetapi belum terdokumentasikan dengan jelas.

Keluarga ini diberi nama “Keluarga Rasamala” karena sering terlihat di areal yang didominasi pohon rasamala (Altingia excelsa).

Bayi owa jawa yang berumur sekira 2 minggu ini terlihat memeluk induknya. Anakan owa jawa masih dikategorikan sebagai bayi ketika berumur kurang dari dua tahun.

Sungguh beruntung Keluarga Rasamala bisa memiliki bayi kembali, karena pertengahan 2017 lalu juga terlihat menggendong bayi.

Di habitat dengan minim pengawasan, bayi-bayi owa sangat rentan untuk diburu.

Baby owa jawa yang diburu tidak cuma merugikan satu individu saja, karena juga satu kelompok owa.

Untuk bisa membantu memutus rantai perburuan owa jawa, kita bisa tidak membeli dan memelihara owa.
