Seekor bayi owa jawa atau Hylobates moloch yang diberi nama “Oke” telah lahir pada Jumat (3/3/2023). Nama ini diberikan langsung oleh Menteri Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan, Siti Nurbaya Bakar.
Bayi owa ini dilahirkan dari pasangan Nitnot dan Cepi di Pusat rehabilitasi owa jawa milik Javan Gibbon Center yang dikelola atas kerja sama antara Balai Taman Nasional Gunung Gede Pangrango dengan Yayasan Owa Jawa di Bogor, Jawa Barat.
Nitnot sendiri merupakan owa betina berusia 15 tahun yang berasal dari penyerahan oleh Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam (BKSDA) DKI Jakarta pada tanggal 11 Maret 2021. Sementara, pasangannya yaitu Cepi, merupakan owa jantan berusia 21 tahun yang berasal dari penyerahan sukarela masyarakat pada 26 Desember 2018.
